How Does LaseMD Work?

The LaseMD treatment employs non-ablative energy, which heats the tissues in the skin’s deeper layers in a gentle manner without affecting the surface layer. As a result, collagen and elastin production within the body are stimulated. Both collagen and elastin are two vital proteins that tighten and strengthen the skin. The levels of these two proteins decrease with age and result in sagging skin, fine lines, and wrinkles.

A LaseMD treatment lasts for 20 minutes and depending on the number of areas being treated and the size of those areas.

LaseMD Treatment: What to Expect

  • Level I: LaseMD Level I, also known as LaseMD Lite, is aimed at boosting the skin’s natural vitality. It is a gentle treatment and it is generally meant for patients who have mild acne scars and melasma. Apart from improving these conditions, this treatment can also improve the overall texture and tone of the patient’s skin.
  • Level II: LaseMD Level II involves the use of stronger wavelengths than the ones used for LaseMD Lite. The Level II treatment can address problems like mild fine lines and moderate sun damage.
  • Level III: LaseMD Level III can target conditions like moderate fine lines, sagging skin, severe sun damage, and acne scars that are quite significant. It is a quick treatment that can rapidly improve the appearance of the patient’s hands, neck, and face.

While the Level I treatment is quite gentle and won’t really trigger any physical symptoms during the procedure, the Level II and Level III treatments may trigger a tingling sensation in patients. This is due to the greater wavelength intensities that are used across these treatment levels.
