Breast-enhancement procedures are about more than just making breasts bigger. Some women may desire larger breasts with a good amount of projection that also have a round and perky shape. In these instances, a simple breast augmentation may not be enough to provide them with their ideal results. The perfect procedure for these individuals is a breast lift with augmentation.

Am I a Good Candidate?

The ideal candidate for a breast lift with augmentation should be in good overall health and should have realistic expectations regarding their results from the procedure.

In general, women who desire larger breasts with a perkier and more youthful appearance are good candidates for a breast lift with augmentation.

A lot of women who are interested in breast augmentation have breasts that droop, which will negatively affect the results of their breast augmentation. Getting a breast lift with augmentation will improve the shape of the breasts and their overall appearance once the implants are inserted.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding can leave the breasts with a saggy and flat appearance, so many patients get this procedure once breastfeeding is complete. It is recommended that you wait until after you plan on no longer having children before undergoing the procedure, as having more children can negatively affect the quality of your results.

The Procedure

During your initial consultation with one of our board-certified plastic surgeons they will go over your current health and medical history. They will ask about your reasons for pursuing the procedure, and will discuss your ideal results.

A breast lift with augmentation is performed under general anesthesia and typically takes around three hours to complete, although this time varies based on the unique surgical plan crafted during your consultation. It is best to have the breast lift and implant insertion performed during the same surgical session, although sometimes this may not be possible.

The first part of the procedure is the placement of the implant. Once the implant is properly placed, our plastic surgeons can perform the lift part of the procedure. This involves removing excess loose breast skin and lifting and reshaping the remaining tissues to improve the breasts’ overall shape and appearance.

Recovering from Your Procedure

Swelling and bruising are to be expected following your procedure. Any discomfort can be managed with medication. These issues should dissipate over the course of your recovery. You will need to take around one week off from work and your normal activities to allow your body to properly heal.

You will be able to see immediate results, and these results should improve as the swelling goes down and the surrounding tissues heal. If any issues arise during your recovery, schedule an appointment to have them checked out as soon as possible.
